How Dr. Doom Might Save the Multiverse in Avengers: Doomsday
Esquire
The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday has Marvel fans buzzing with theories, and while there are plenty of wild speculations floating around, one theory stands out as the most compelling yet. Credit goes to the Heavy Spoilers YouTube channel for breaking down what might be the best roadmap for how Doctor Doom could rise to power and reshape the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) leading into Secret Wars.
The Doomsday Setup
Marvel Studios has been laying the groundwork for an all-out multi-versal collapse throughout the Multiverse Saga, and Avengers: Doomsday is poised to be the breaking point. If we follow the breadcrumbs left by Loki, Deadpool & Wolverine, and the Doctor Strange sequel, it seems inevitable that a multiversal catastrophe will force a radical solution. Enter Doctor Doom.
The theory suggests that Doom won’t simply be another Thanos-level villain wreaking havoc for destruction’s sake. Instead, he’ll present himself as a savior, one who understands that the multiverse is on the brink of self-destruction and that extreme measures must be taken to preserve what’s left. But how?
The Void: A New Home for the Multiverse
We’ve already seen the concept of pruning in Loki, where entire realities and timelines are erased and dumped into a metaphysical realm known as the Void. Unlike other realms in the multiverse, the Void exists outside of time, making it the perfect foundation for Doom’s master plan.
According to this theory, Doctor Doom will take control of the TVA’s reset charges, those same devices used by the Time Variance Authority to erase timelines. With the multiverse spiraling out of control, Doom’s plan will be to prune the entire multiversal tree, collapsing all realities into the Void. Instead of letting them be lost forever, he will reshape this dimension into a new world of his own design, likely Battleworld, a concept straight from the Secret Wars comics.

Doom’s Path to Power
There are a few key elements that could give Doom the power he needs to pull this off:
1. The TVA’s Reset Charges – As seen in Loki, these devices are capable of erasing entire realities. If Doom gains access to one, he could theoretically prune the entire multiverse into the Void.
2. The TVA’s Infinity Stones – The Loki series established that the TVA has a collection of Infinity Stones lying around like paperweights. If Doom were to claim
them, he could potentially harness their power in the Void, where normal rules of reality may no longer apply.
3. Alioth – The massive, reality-devouring cloud that once served He Who Remains could become Doom’s ultimate weapon or be cast out, leaving him free to reshape the Void into his own dominion.
The Future of the MCU After Doomsday
If Doom succeeds in collapsing the multiverse, what happens next? The theory posits that Marvel has already hinted at a new multiverse being born. What If...? Season 2 introduced a pocket universe created by Strange Supreme, one that exists outside of the main multiversal tree. This could serve as the foundation for the post-Secret Wars MCU, much like how Baby Groot replaced the original Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Final Thoughts
While this theory is not mine, it is by far the most compelling and well-supported breakdown of how Avengers: Doomsday could play out. If Marvel follows this blueprint, we’re in for one of the most ambitious and game-changing stories in MCU history.
